Beginning with the opening of Putrajaya around 1999 and its declaration as the Federal Territory of Putrajaya on 1 February 2001, its development became very rapid and experienced a sudden increase in population. The area of Precinct 9 which is gazetted as a ‘housing precinct’ causes this area to become one of the densely populated areas in Putrajaya. Therefore, the construction of SK Putrajaya Precinct 9(2) becomes a primary education institute that can offer the best education for the citizens of the Federal Territory of Putrajaya.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Precinct 9 (2) was fully opened on 3 January 2005. The number of students at this time is 564 including students from the Special Education Program for Learning Disabilities (PKBP). The classes that operate for years 1 to 6 are as many as 18 who are each named Cendiakawan, Bestari and Arif. For Special Education classes, there are 12 sets including the coordinator’s room.
Led by an experienced teacher in various fields. The school’s management structure is led by the Head Teacher, Puan Hajah Khamisah Nor binti Mohd Zin and assisted by 3 Senior Assistant Teachers and a Special Education Coordinator Teacher while 36 academic teachers and 8 teachers teach in special education classes.
In 2006, an increase in student enrollment occurred and led to the opening of new classes for students in years 1, 2, 3 and 4. A total of 31 classes with a total of 745 students were recorded in the registration records until March 2006. The school also recorded history considering in the first year of its opening there were a total of 67 UPSR candidates. Achievement results for the year 2005 achieved 8 5 A students.
The design of modern school buildings is equipped with various high-tech equipment capable of creating an effective schooling environment. The school is equipped with lift facilities, cctv, multi-purpose hall, public address equipment, special education learning units, equipment of various special rooms and so on making the school one of the best in Putrajaya. The equipment for the special education school is the most modern and the best in Putrajaya.
In 2012, SK Putrajaya Precinct 9(2) was recognized as one of the High Performing Schools (SBT) through an assessment carried out by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. Through the recognition of Cohort 5, there are three main ethos that are catalysts for school excellence, namely Mathematics, Science and Scouting. This excellence places SK Putrajaya Precinct 9(2) on a par with leading elite schools in the country.
In line with the rapid demographic development of the population in the Federal Territory of Putrajaya, the number of students in this school has also increased significantly. On average, the total number of Perdana students and the Special Integrated Education Program (PPKI) in this school will be around 1700 people by 2019. Therefore, there is an additional classroom block built in IBS in 2018 and 2020 which houses six new classrooms .
