This school was established in 1950 under the name Government English School (G.E.S.) during the British colonial period. This school is the only school that has a place among the Labuan community as a good school with advanced achievements. The original building only had seven classrooms. At the initial stage of the establishment of this school, it was only able to provide primary education. The language of instruction is entirely in English. The development of the school is progressing until it is able to hold lessons. At that time, the Headmaster also played the role of Principal and administered secondary and primary schools at the same time until independence in 1963.
The building’s physical progress also changed. The addition of classrooms scattered around the original building is intended to accommodate the needs of secondary school students as many as 15 classrooms. When the National Education Policy was launched, this school also experienced changes. Bahasa Malaysia is gradually being introduced instead of English. Later, this school was renamed to Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Pekan Dua. Its administration is separated from the secondary school, but the Parent and Teacher Association (PTBA) remains one. The physical building of the primary school is only seven classrooms and in 1988 3 more classrooms were added under the Lightning Development Plan. In June 2002, Sekolah Kebangsaan Dua moved to a new building on the former football field site near the old school site. Now Pekan Dua National School can accommodate a total of 900 students with 44 teaching staff. This new school building is equipped with 28 classrooms, a science laboratory, a music room, an art education room, a rehabilitation class, a resource center, a prayer hall, a canteen, a dental room, a health room and a counseling room. Overall, this new school building is able to improve the quality of education.
